Byblos & Cedar starts with our father, afterall this is a family story. He began working in this trade as a teenage boy in the centre of Lebanon, learning to roast and grade nuts, seeds, and coffee by hand as he tried to support a family. He carried that trade around the Middle East for years before eventually settling in the UK, where he kept doing the only work he'd ever known - sourcing and roasting the way he was taught, just further from home.

Byblos & Cedar is that trade, formalised: nuts and seeds roasted in small batches, dried fruit sourced from growers we know by name, and Lebanese-style coffee ground fine, with or without cardamom. We're based in London now, and we ship wholesale across the UK and into Europe, but the habits are the same ones our father learned as a boy.

The second half of the catalog grew through marriage. As our family grew we developed connections to farms across Asia, including China and Japan, which is where our matcha comes from. It is from here that our rice bowls and yoghurt bowls come, built around a ginger-and-rice recipe her family has long made for new mothers to help breast milk flow. We're careful not to overstate it as medicine, but it's a recipe with real history behind it, and it's become one of our most requested products. It is certainly one we make within our household so regularly!

So Byblos & Cedar is really two family trades under one roof: a Lebanese roasting tradition carried from the centre of Lebanon to London, and an Asian love-of-food tradition brought in by marriage. Every account starts free - we'd rather you see our case pricing and minimums up front. We're transparent, honest and will always work hard to meet your requirements.
